Academy and Bafta award winning actress, Tilda Swinton will appear throughout Patrick Wolf’s forthcoming, fourth album, ‘Battle’. Featuring in spoken word form, Tilda offers a “voice of hope” through her running narrative.

A huge fan since discovering the film ‘Orlando’, Patrick approached Tilda after the premiere of ‘Julia’ with a CD of his and a hand written note. Within a few days, Tilda responded with an email and the next day they were in the studio. Similar in mind and being, an instinctive bond formed between the two, as Tilda explains: “My feeling is that we almost certainly come from the same planet: kith and kin. His music feels like the unexpressed soundtrack of a great film I want to see - and try to catch every night before I go to sleep. It's a lovely thing to be a part of that magical landscape.”

Featuring on four songs, her contribution adds a magical depth to what will be one of the most important records of 2009. As announced in December, ‘Battle’ will be released through Patrick’s own label, Bloody Chamber Music, funded via Bandstocks.com, the revolutionary funding vehicle that allows fans, indeed anyone, to take a stake in an album's success through buying stocks at £10 a time.
