Rockwired Reader’s Poll Awards in support of her album “The Worst Kind of Way.”
LOS ANGELES, CA (January 7, 2009) – Singer songwriter Delaney Gibson will kick off 2009 with a total of twelve award nominations, two from the 3rd Annual Rockwired Reader’s Poll Awards, and ten from the 2nd Annual MAVRIC Awards in Ventura County. Rockwired has honored her with nominations in the following categories: Best Female Artist, and Best Song (“The Worst Kind of Way”). The MAVRIC Awards has nominated Delaney in the following ten categories: CD of the Year Overall (“The Worst Kind of Way”), Vocal Performance of the Year Female (“I’m Alive”), Song of the Year Overall (“Chicago”), Song of the Year Comedy / Humor (“I Think I Have OCD”), Song of the Year Foreign (“Je Ne T’aime Pas”), Song of the Year Jazz (“The Worst Kind of Way”), Song of the Year Pop (“I’m Alive”), Cover Song Performance of the Year (“Creep”), and Best Mixing of a Full Length CD and Best Production of a Full Length Album for “The Worst Kind of Way.”
“I feel so incredibly blessed to have been nominated for so many fantastic awards, amongst so many other great artists,” says Gibson. “Making ‘The Worst Kind of Way’ was such an amazing experience for me, the album has done so well and I just want everyone to enjoy hearing it as much as I enjoyed making it. I hope that all my fans will go out and vote, it would be awesome to be able to win one of these awards!”
Over 1,500 songs and over 139 artists were submitted to be included in the MAVRIC Awards this year. The awards celebrate the music community of Ventura County, California and are committed to getting the community as a whole to recognize the incredible art that is happening in their own backyards. The awards ceremony is set to take place February 22, 2009 at the Thousand Oaks Civic Center in Thousand Oaks, California.
Voting for the Rockwired Reader’s Poll Awards beings on January 5, 2009, and polling closes on February 28, 2009. The winners will be announced on a special hour long broadcast of Rockwired Live which will air March 7, 2009 at 4:30 PM PST on www.KTSTFM.com.
