Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductees 2009 Metallica, Jeff Beck, Little Anthony & the Imperials, Run-D.M.C. and Bobby Womack will be the newest Performer inductees to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on April 2 in Cleveland, Ohio, as announced today. They will be joined by Early Influence inductee Wanda Jackson, and Sidemen Category inductees Bill Black, DJ Fontana and Spooner Oldham. A performing artist becomes eligible for induction 25 years after the release of their first record. The nominated artists each year are put to a vote from a body of around 600 rock experts of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation. The top 5-7 scorers of this vote are inducted. Hoping to rival some of 2008’s big name presenters, including Lou Reed, Billy Joel and John Fogerty, it will now be a waiting game to see who gets to induct this year's impressive list of classic artists. In a surprising turn, and for the first time in the Hall’s 24-year history, tickets to the ceremony will be made available to the public. Check out Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum for all the ticketing information. |
