February 16th through Friends Vs Records
Soft Toy Emergency are a lycra-tight Liverpudlian electro-pop five-piece fronted by feisty singer Jen. They have been touring like demons throughout 2008; cramming in as many houseparties as possible along the way. Armed with a set of infectious single-worthy tunes, they’ve been coercing even the most tranquil of toe-tappers into gyrating nutcases. Following a year of increasingly feverish shows and supports with the likes of Hadouken, The Faint and, most recently, Iglu and Hartly, Soft Toy Emergency follow a handful of often swapped and shared demos with their debut single. ‘I Kno U Want It’ is released through Friends Vs Records on 16th February and hits like an electric eel in a particularly full bath. Driven by a propulsive mix of electronics and shattering guitar, the track is the perfect calling card for a band whose appearance at In The City this year started an underground buzz that is now reaching out beyond dedicated My Spacers into the wider world.
Already well known in their native Liverpool and through the North of England, the Soft Toy Emergency sirens are now sounding throughout the UK. As local scene watchers Liverpool.com said ‘Soft Toy Emergency couldn’t sound more like right now if they tried’.
More tour dates are now being lined up for the New Year, check the band site at http://www.softtoyemergency.com/ for the latest updates.
‘I Kno U Want It’ will be released on 7” and digital download.
