Due to adverse weather conditions, New Jersey’s favourite sons, The Gaslight Anthem were forced to postpone yesterday’s show at the Portsmouth Wedgewood Rooms. The date was rescheduled for Saturday Feb 7th. Frank Turner will be the support for this show – Polar Bear Club will not be performing due to scheduling conflicts.
All tickets remain valid. As of now, all shows will go ahead as scheduled.
In other Gaslight news, their brilliant new single “Great Expectations” will be released on SideOneDummy Records on March 16th.
The band recently performed an incredible rendition of “The ’59 Sound” on The Late Show with David Letterman to a rapturous response.

Hailing from New Brunswick, New Jersey, the band’s anthemic tales of life, loss, family, heartbreak and youth have captured the imagination and hearts of fans and media everywhere. THE ’59 SOUND is being hailed as one of the albums of the year, with Kerrang! putting the band on the cover before ever having written a word about them, NME calling THE ’59 SOUND “one of the best albums of 2008” and other immensely positive press coming from the likes of Q Magazine, Rock Sound, Big Cheese, Classic Rock, Uncut, Clash and The Sun as well as from influential American magazines Rolling Stone, SPIN and Alternative Press. Numerous spins on Radio One, Xfm and 6Music have contributed to this band’s meteoric and well-deserved success, and special BBC Radio One (with Zane Lowe) and XFM in-studio sessions just aired recently.
