2009 LEG KICKS OFF FOLLOWING RELEASE OF GREATEST HITS ALBUM
Multi platinum selling artists FILTER are to return to Europe in April 2009 as Special Guest on the upcoming PAPA ROACH tour. The tour will take the bands all over Europe’s mainland and through the UK. This marks a welcome return for FILTER who toured in the summer of ‘08, selling out shows in London and making triumphant appearances at Rock am Ring and Rock am Park in Germany. The group will also be celebrating the release of THE VERY BEST THINGS, due out on March 30th.
After a 5-year hiatus, FILTER returned to the music scene in mid-2008 with their brilliant new album - “Anthems For The Damned”. Founder and front-man, Richard Patrick called the album a ‘harsh indictment of civilization that doesn’t exclude himself from its vision of a world falling apart.’ The ‘Anthems record was then remixed with a digital-only release called “Remixes For The Damned” in late ’08.
FILTER achieved huge success in the late 90’s / 2000’s with their multi-platinum selling albums “Short Bus”, “Title of Record” and “The Amalgamut”. Their upcoming offering, THE VERY BEST THINGS (1995-2008), will be released March 30, 2009 on Rhino Records. A compilation of some of FILTER’s greatest hits will be included on the release, including classics from the band’s popular albums like “Hey Man, Nice Shot,” “Take A Picture,” “(Can’t You) Trip Like I Do” (with The Crystal Method) and “Welcome To The Fold,” among others.
Filter toured extensively in the US for the best part of 2008, performing tracks from “Anthems For The Damned”, including the hit single “Soldiers Of Misfortune” alongside the afore-mentioned Filter classics. The Filter live experience is so powerful, especially for the band themselves. “We can’t wait to get out and play live in Europe again. It has been a long time since we've done a tour outside the ‘States. Our fans throughout Europe are so passionate and amazing," Richard Patrick said. "Papa Roach is great band and this show should really be something special."
