ASTEROIDS ANNOUNCE ONE OFF LONDON SHOW

ASTEROIDS ANNOUNCE ONE OFF LONDON SHOW

The Asteroids Galaxy Tour, aka Lars Iversen and Mette Lindberg

Denmark's finest and one of 2009's brightest new hopes, The Asteroids Galaxy Tour, aka Lars Iversen and Mette Lindberg. have announced a one off show at London's Cargo on 2nd March. Live the duo grow to a six piece with a drummer, guitarist and a fully fledged horn section including ace trumpet player Miloud Carl Sabri who spent time in Cuba in 1999 playing with the mighty Buena Vista Social Club.

This gig also marks the release of their rather brilliant single 'The Sun Ain't Shining No More' through the Small Giants label on 9th March. It had a limited release last year as the band's debut single but made such an impact that it's now back by popular demand and will receive a much deserved full blown release. Sung by the compelling Mette Lindberg, it highlights her kooky, utterly unique voice brilliantly and is enhanced by a driving bass and sixties inspired horn section.

Formed eighteen months ago, it's been a whirlwind for the band ever since. They're first ever gig was supporting Amy Winehouse in the biggest venue in Copenhagen and they have since gone on to play a series of gigs and festivals in Europe, the States, and the UK, to rapturous response. They will perform at this year's SXSW before hitting the festival circuit again this summer. They've also garnered strong support from radio, including high profile fans such as Jo Whiley, Sara Cox, Jonathan Ross, Dermot O'Leary and Radcliffe and Maconie.

The Asteroids' last single 'Around The Bend' featured in the recent iPod Touch ad and they can count among their growing army of fans the producers of the hip and hit US teen dram 'Gossip Girl' who love the band so much they offered them a cameo in the second series.

With their stunning debut album 'Fruit' due for release in May The Asteroids Galaxy Tour looks set to soar in 2009.
