ANNOUNCES NEW TOUR DATES ; PERFORMING WITH LOS ANGELES PHILHARMONIC MARCH 7, 2009
Following a 2008 UK tour with Kings of Leon, their own sold-out North American tour, their recent support slot The Killers' US arena tour, and their television debut on Late Night With Conan O'Brien (1/27/09) M83 announce new US dates, including Sasquatch Music Festival. In addition, M83 are scheduled to perform with the LA Philharmonic at the Walt Disney Concert Hall March 7th and on March 9th M83 will perform on Last Call With Carson Daly.
Describing the live show as "propulsive" and "hypnotic," The New York Times proclaims M83 mastermind Anthony Gonzalez as the "electro pop wizard of a fragile dream world" (1/26/09). Rolling Stone says Gonzalez wins their award for "Our favorite French musician ever" (2/5/09).
Released in April 2008, M83's fifth album, "Saturdays = Youth," has taken them to new heights, performing well at radio, receiving accolades from all corners of the media and selling more than the band has ever sold.
"Saturdays = Youth" debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top New Artist Heatseekers Chart, went to #1 on the CMJ Top 200, was the #1 record of 2008 at Urban Outfitters and received an NPR nomination for 2008 Album of the Year.The record met with additional critical praise including an 8.5/10 review ranking and a top-10 of 2008 nod from Pitchfork.
