Having won over audiences whilst supporting Disturbed late last year, the band retuned to UK shores to complete their first headline tour last month. It was a total sell-out and due to overwhelming demand their London show, originally scheduled to take place at The Underworld, was upgraded to Islington Academy. From the start, Shinedown have proven to be true road warriors, touring non-stop to bring their hard-edged rock ‘n’ roll to fans across the US. The band have performed countless headline dates, and shared stages with the likes of Seether, Van Halen, 3 Doors Down, Rob Zombie, and Godsmack.
The Jacksonville, Florida-based fivesome exploded onto the US rock scene in 2003 with their RIAA platinum-certified breakthrough debut, ‘Leave A Whisper’. 2005 saw the release of sophomore album ‘Us and Them’, the RIAA gold-certified record that yielded the blockbusting single ‘Save Me’ – a track which dominated the airwaves holding down the number one spot in the mainstream rock charts for a stunning twelve consecutive weeks. The success of ‘Save Me’ was followed by two further Top 5 hits – ‘Heroes’ and ‘I Dare You.’
More UK shows will be announced shortly.
