Ok, so maybe you have never heard of VETO? A Brief explanation would include the facts that Veto are a) a 5 piece band from Arhuis & Copenhagen in Denmark, b) the album ‘Crushing Digits’ will be their first ever release on these fair shores c) their music elegantly mixes together progressive rock and modern electronica, soaring melodies, bleeps, clicks and pounding live rhythms and d) they are the biggest thing to come out of Denmark since Hans Christian Andersen.
Now, less fact and more opinion, VETO play a unique brand of propulsive alternative rock, blending edgy guitars, thunderous drums and vast, electronic textures blending together beauty, melancholy, a sharp wit and an understanding of the dark side(s) in life. Think twisted, dark, melodic and rhythmical rock with modern contempories including Hot Chip, Klaxons, Nine Inch Nails, The Cure, Bjork and Pendulum.
The band will be releasing the first single ‘Built to Fail’, complete with both a Tomboy and James Braun remix, on March 16th, with the album following on shortly afterwards on April 20th. Tomboy is a respected Dannish producer who is also part of the whomadewho? outfit. He has remixed Bloc Party, Gorillaz, Chromeo, Digitalism and Peaches as well as productions for labels such as Gomma, Kitsune, Get Physical Music and Turbo. In the words of Tiga, he makes "funk-filled-groove-injected-modern-post-disco-house-bombs" James Braun is a new Danish producer, whose Spanish Fly track garnered big support fomr Jesse Rose, CLaude Von Stroke, A-TRak, Laurent Garnier & Jamie Jones.
