APHEX TWIN to headline!
BLOC to host the Vapor Stage at the Glade Festival. 16-19 July.
Underground dance dons BLOC (curators of BLOC Weekend – that’s us!) are set to host the Vapor Stage, the main late night tent, at this year’s Glade Festival which will also include an exclusive UK appearance by headliners Underworld.
Excited by the prospect of banging loud late night sound levels thanks to Glade’s new venue in the Winchester countryside, BLOC have teamed up with Glade Festival to throw their summer party in the UK. Expect the biggest names in world techno and the cream of the UK underground dance. Glade’s change of venue also means the music will be running much later, with both the big production stages kicking it ‘till early morning as well as an increased emphasis on smaller, more intimate venues also running late, giving Glade Festival its unique free party feeling that first made it famous at Glastonbury.
So as well as the main Bloc event taking place in just 2 weeks time, you can also add some high summer al fresco raving to your Festival diary. Quite simply, the Glade Festival is already shaping up to be THE festival of the summer, run by festival people for likeminded people who love life, music, freedom, art and alternative culture – a bit like Bloc. In other news;
BLOC has a brand new venue for 2009!
The thing about Butlins is this – it is actually really good. In previous years the pleasure taken in the holiday-resort side of BLOC may have been a little tongue in cheek. Butlins Minehead features the kind of holiday entertainment fun stuff you can really get your teeth into;
It houses the largest water park in the South West, which has a wave pool and a flume that fires you screaming from its jaws at a speed of 40 miles per hour. It has a fun fair with rides that are massive enough to freak you out if you’re the kind to get freaked out by massive rides. And it never, ever rains at BLOC – everyone attending is housed in luxury holiday apartments which surround the main, indoor arenas.
It is the utter and the outright elite of holiday resorts and we are exploding with joy to be hosting BLOC there.
