Bridge Nine Records is proud to announce that they will be teaming up with Philadelphia’s PAINT IT BLACK to release a 7”/Digital EP this June. Following three of the best hardcore full-lengths of this decade and still getting stronger (which is a frightening concept), Paint It Black recently announced their plan to release a few EP’s rather than record a follow-up LP to 2008’s stunning New Lexicon. Bridge Nine label manager Karl Hensel stated, “If you want to talk about second-guessing ourselves, [B9 owner] Chris and I always talk about how much we want to go back in time and do the vinyl for New Lexicon. At the time, we weren’t able to do it, so to be able to work with the band on this EP-it’s something we’re really excited to do and it’s been a long time coming.”
The band will be entering God City studios to record with engineer Kurt Ballou. Slated for release in June 2009, the as-yet-untitled EP, according to frontman and modern philosopher Dan Yemin, “[This] is our fiercest shit to date. Except one song sounds like Fugazi having a three-way with Jawbreaker and Nirvana.”
Look for the EP to be available on vinyl & digital worldwide from Bridge Nine, B9store.com, Itunes, Amazon, Emusic, Paint It Black shows, jackass “blogs” full of mediafire links and independent retailers that still carry vinyl in June 2009.
Paint It Black is also heading out on a tour with Propagandhi (the flyers should say ex-I-Spy) in the USA.
