The Lomographic Society International are proud to unveil the exclusive online video created as part of their recent global photography promotion with one of the UK’s most talked about new artists, Alessi’s Ark.
Containing a selection of winning photographs taken and submitted by Lomography readers inspired by the music of Alessi’s Ark, ‘The Asteroids Collide: The Lomography Special’ sees these unique images incorporated into an animated video that reflects both the rich creativity of Lomography’s international community and the magic held within Alessi’s music.Following over 2500 submissions, 18 year old Alessi Laurent Marke spent weeks whittling down the entrants into a selection of photographs that best reflected the lyrics and spirit of ‘The Asteroids Collide’ – one of the stand-out tracks from her soon-to-be-releases debut album ‘Notes from The Treehouse’.Speaking about the unprecedented response to the promotion, Alessi said “It is an honour that 'The Asteroids Collide' was used as a backdrop and theme for such beautiful photographs. 2500 photos were submitted and it was almost impossible to choose my favourites - the song belongs to every one of those images!

The overwhelming response from all the folks has been humbling.”For Lomography this has also been a wonderful opportunity to demonstrate that “analogue” is more than just soft tone film photography – it is a lifestyle often simultaneously composed of vinyl records, retro toys and analogue watches to name a few. An analogue lifestyle is above all full of creativity and fun and while Lomography prides itself on 10 golden rules, such as “don’t think”, "be fast", "shoot from the hip" and "take your camera wherever you go” – perhaps the most important one remains – “don’t worry about any rules.” With products ranging from analogue cameras, film, instant products, fashion items and other accessories, Lomography has proudly declared that the future, in fact is, analogue.
