Rosie and the Goldbug - Free MP3 Download- Stateside Tour Dates

Rosie and the Goldbug make music that manages to be both slinky and throbby, intimate and powerful, emotional and hedonistic, not to mention, big and clever. And while this band might only be two years old, their sound and purpose are timeless; blissful dreamy electro-glam pop meant to incite dance riots! Don’t miss your chance to catch them live stateside for some amazing one-off shows in Los Angeles, New York and Austin during SXSW!
Hailing from the west country of Cornwall, UK, Rosie & The Goldbug formed in 2007 after glamazon lead vocalist Rosie, who had been studying music in college, decided to return to her roots with the sole purpose of forming a band; “the course was all about studying mundane jazz modes and it made me realize I wanted to just write three chord pop tunes and rebel”. Fed up of fronting a band “full of belchin’ ‘n’ fartin’ lads who seemed intent on playing boring old indie-guitar wank,” Rosie enlisted her long time friend Pixie, a phenomenally talented bass player and upon a chance encounter with mesmerizing drummer Plums, the band was born. Rosie & The Goldbug are a razor-sharp three pronged trio who are proving themselves quite the musical force to be reckoned with.

Having only been together for two years, they have achieved abundant success, being handpicked as main support for pop legend Cyndi Lauper’s European tour and boasting of support from Radio 1, Radio 2, XFM and 6Music amongst others. Past videos can be found playlisted on Q, E4, 4 Music and NME TV. Their self titled album was released in the UK to much acclaim. Currently on the cover of Artrocker Magazine (the magazines fastest selling issue ever!) and heating up the charts overseas, the band is beyond ready to tear up the United States from East to West, and will without a doubt leave us desperately wanting more...

What was the lead singer like? From the videos I have seen, she seems like she may be a bit of a wannabe. In fact the band as a whole do.

i didnt know them that well, it was only the one gig, but i wasnt in to them. I think they thought they were better than they were bacause as soon as a half decent band comes along in the westcountry everyone worships them because anythings better than listening to radio devon.

Dresden Dolls? I can't even imagine them sounding like that.

They obviously ditched that sound when they realised DD were never gonna be big themselves.
