'You’re Not Invincible EP' Out April 6th Via Distiller Records
White Belt Yellow Tag are Justin Lockey & Craig Pilbin and they release their debut, the 'You’re Not Invincible EP' through Distiller Records on April 6th 2009.
The 4-track EP, which recently was declared to be ‘the hottest record in the world’ on Zane Lowe’s Radio 1 show, features the tracks You’re Not Invincible, News, Picture All The Same & Song About Growing. Self-produced and recorded in their own Newcastle studio, the title track was mixed by renowned producer Chris Potter. The EP will be available on 10” and download.
Lockey who has previous, Yourcodenameis:Milo, had bumped into Pilbin up in Newcastle; Lockey knew his way around a studio and Pilbin had a bunch of songs he wanted to try out.
The two consequently began working together and the relationship soon developed beyond producer / writer, as they shared duties playing all the instruments rather than waste time recruiting a band.
Within weeks they had amassed a bunch of amazing songs that teetered somewhere between the glacial grind of Slint and the soaring majesty of Doves – dramatic, tense & uplifting.
Yet to tour or even play live, the pair are currently adding a member for live purposes & finishing writing and recording their debut album which should be released later in 2009.
