Super Satellite Play Mercury Lounge 4-1-09 w/ The Gourds WHO: Super Satellite is fronted by Christian Edwards (on lead vocals, rhythm guitar, and also serves as the band’s songwriter) and is joined by Tim Foster (lead guitar, mandolin, backing vocals), Brian Hurst (drums, percussion), and Chris Wenzel (bass, backing vocals). Super Satellite has such a broad appeal with their feel-good retro sound, that they were able to garner more attention and earn support slots for artists like The Gin Blossoms, Sponge, Candlebox, Vonda Shepard and the Ataris, to name a few. WHAT: Super Satellite are releasing their first album on Side Car Industries, a ten song E.P., which was mixed, edited, and produced at Stratosphere Sound in New York City by Geoff Sanoff, whose other works include records by Nada Surf, the Sounds, Fountains of Wayne and Dashboard Confessional. The overall vibe of the album is uplifting with more focus on what is good in the world than what is wrong with it landing them spots on major music events including Mobfest in Chicago and the support act to Lifehouse at Summerfest in Milwaukee.
