Ends At Coachella
Acclaimed Brazilian techno artist Gui Boratto has just released his excellent follow-up to 2007's critically lauded Chromophobia finds him expanding on his distinct, masterful sense of warm textures, twitchy drum grooves, complex lucid melodies, and deceivingly minimal, ever-expanding compositions. Take My Breath Away is just as anthemic and joyous and as its predecessor, but immediately you hear its a more refined, sophisticated effort. Kaleidoscopic in tone, Take My Breath Away is miles away from cold techno. Digging deeper into the into the album's hypnotic throb one can hear not just meticulously edited microhouse or the funky stomp of Detroit techno but also prominently shoegaze, pre-goth 80s mope rock, latin-percussion workouts, and classic pop. Take My Breath Away seals Boratto's place in the electronic music community as one of the most innovative, future-thinking producers. He will be touring the US in March/April beginning at Winter Music Conference and closing it out with a performance at Coachella.

"Like his previous album, Take My Breath Away is front-to-back enjoyable and is perfect to throw on repeat while you "figure some things out."
The FADER
"Take My Breath Away is a vibrant, kaleidoscopic album, one that sounds and feels jubilant, despite its complex production and incredible attention to detail."
XLR8R
"Boratto's fluency with the pop music idiom informs his eloquence within the hard jargon of techno. But what really makes his work special is his ability to speak two musical languages at once without sounding like he's pandering to either side. His deliberate inflections of melody often emerge with a ring of truth, especially as he guides his repetitions through the peaks and valleys of his little mostly-nonverbal anecdotes."
