The Presets Tour w/ The Golden Filter
The Presets world domination continues! After two years studio silence, The
Presets (Julian Hamilton and Kim Moyes) come rocketing back into the fray
with their sophomore album, Apocalypso. Ranging from expansive, emotive
techno, to future pagan house and choral space funk, Apocalypso demonstrates
the band's undeniably canny knack for welding hook-laden pop to some of the
most singular and exciting sounds of tomorrow. The double Platinum,
three-time ARIA Award winning, Triple J Album of the Year is a modern,
electronic pop album that sits as perfectly on the dance floor as it does in
the heart. The Collectors Edition comes with two discs, exclusive remixes &
a hard bound book cover. Following on from their US shows with Cut Copy, The
Presets return to the states in April for their own headline tour including
a performance at the Coachella Festival.
In support of the Collectors Edition comes the new single - If I Know You.
If I Know You represents one of the more sublimely opulent moments from the
LP. Built from a somber chord progression and poignant tale of bitterness
and lessons learned, If I Know You echoes of lonely night drives, dancing in
the forest and the feeling of gallantly marching away from a spiteful
lover. As is the parlance of our times, If I Know You has been given the
remix treatment from a saddle of heavies, and they're all conveniently
zipped up here for your usage this weekend and beyond.
Tom Middleton turns heartbreak into ecstasy, with a bombastic house rework,
while UK new-Italo duo Heartbreak turn in a throbbing old school
electro-disco jammer. Former Depeche Mode/Yazoo/Erasure production don Vince
Clarke returned to the studio to whip up a mystic voodoo breakbeat version
that one wouldnít generally conceive when thinking of The Presets but makes
sweet sense. Israeli techno producer Chaim strips the song back to even less
than bare bones, if thatís possible, for an impressively stark, minimal
builder. The Presets themselves also turn in a bold, epic version of their
own track.
If I Know You is to be released Early April & the Apocalypso Collectors
Edition will be available through Modular Records.
