…And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead announce Tour Dates and New Single
…And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead return with their second single from their critically acclaimed new album, ‘The Century of Self’, on Superball Music on April 20th 2009.

The Century Of Self” is an epic masterpiece. From the soaring instrumental opener, ´Giants Causeway`, to the album’s closer, ´Insatiable Two’, the record is a work of tremendous scope and ambition. While the term ´prog` is overused, on this album Trail Of Dead has managed that rare feat – a prog album that isn’t academic or over indulgent. “The new songs are very personal,” says vocalist Conrad Keely. “Some of them are autobiographical. We’re building on everything we’ve ever done, looking back on our whole career and taking a lot inspiration from our early music. We continue to evolve the concept and try to incorporate new ideas. And there was no point on the record where we were trying to write songs you’d hear on commercial radio. We know that singles are driving the market, and we don’t care.”

The history of the American band dates back to the early nineties, when the four school friends, Kevin Allen, Neil Busch, Conrad Keely and Jason Reece, were reunited at college and founded ...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead. On the strength of their intelligent alternative rock, the group soon became one of the most important and influential American bands with their self-titled debut album (1998) and follow up Madonna (1999).

Source Tags & Codes (2002) met with equally positive reactions from fans and press alike, and after personnel changes ...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead celebrated their big breakthrough in 2005 with their masterpiece, “Worlds Apart”, which topped the annual polls of the most popular music magazines and was unanimously praised by the critics as a classic album. Worlds Apart was followed by 2006’s “So Divided”

Praise for The Century of Self

What makes the difference between an impressive album and one you want to play repeatedly is a hatful of tunes big enough to match the grandeur of the group’s arrangements. The Times 4.5

A progressive band without the prog, a rock band without the rock, six albums in without a misstep among them - …trail of dead are undeniably special. – Album of the month - The Fly 4.5/5

The Century of Self is an album with an accomplished sense of completion – a rolling score of disparate tracks segueing into a focused, poignant collective. Clash Magazine
