 After announcing to the world the plans of their new project and forthcoming albums, EL GRUPO NUEVO DE OMAR RODRIGUEZ LOPEZ prepares the release of their debut effort, Cryptomnesia, available on vinyl LP format and in record stores everywhere starting tomorrow, in celebration of Record Store Day (CD format available May 5th, both courtesy of the newly launched Rodriguez Lopez Productions).
Also to celebrate the new album and vinyl release, the band has unveiled the first track to be heard in its entirety, courtesy of the good folks at Stereogum.com. Click here to listen to track 2 off Cryptomnesia entitled "Half Kleptos."
* Cryptomnesia is the first release in a series of three albums recorded in 2006 by EL GRUPO NUEVO DE OMAR RODRIGUEZ LOPEZ and features members Zach Hill (HELLA) on drums, Jonathan Hischke (HELLA) on synth bass, Juan Alderete de la Peņa (THE MARS VOLTA) on bass guitar, as well as guest frontman Cedric Bixler Zavala on eight of the album's eleven tracks. A special limited advance vinyl offering of only 3,000 copies will be made available exclusively to Indie Retail in honor of RECORD STORE DAY starting tomorrow.
