Altsounds - LOS ALBERTOS New Single Album & Tour Dates

Los Albertos serve up Sleep, the first single from their forthcoming 3rd album Dish it Up’. Yet another bowlful of their grinning seaside ska, Sleep is available completely free from www.losalbertos.co.uk. Sleep was recorded at The Metway studios in Brighton, and produced by Al Scott.

Los Albertos are a six-piece ensemble of Brighton-based trilby-adorned ska-dance protagonists who’ve been transmitting their hi-energy melodies to the nation since their formation in 2002, leading to regular appearances at Glastonbury, Beautiful Days and Brighton Fringe festivals.

Los Albertos are Jim Gallagher (Bass), Tim Herman (Alto Sax), Mark Crawford (Guitar), Chez Harper-Grimble (Tenor Sax), Des Crawley (Trumpet) and Martin Andrews (percussion)

Album information

Released on the 17th May 2009, ‘Dish It Up’ was recorded at Metway studios in Brighton, and was produced and engineered by Al Scott – best known for also producing the Levellers’ seminal No.1 Album Zeitgeist. With the additional creative input of Chez Harper-Grimble on tenor sax and Des Crawley on trumpet, ‘Dish it up’ shares the same brassy qualities as the band’s 2006 album ‘Information Overload’, but also incorporates a rockier feel into the skank.

Reflecting upon a life on the open road - the band average over 100 gigs and festivals around the country every year - tracks expound their happy-go-lucky where’s-the-next-party approach to life, imploring us not to take the drudgery of 9-5 life too seriously.
