JG THIRLWELL: THE MUSIC OF THE VENTURE BROS - OUT NOW
JG Thirlwell's musical score to Adult Swim's hit television series, The Venture Bros. is out now available on CD and as a digital download, and limited edition vinyl.
"The Venture Bros :The Music of JG Thirlwell" contains all original compositions from Thirlwell, the Australian-born and Brooklyn-based composer, producer and performer. Thirlwell has composed and performed under a myriad of pseudonyms including Foetus, Steroid Maximus, Manorexia, Baby Zizanie and Wiseblood. Since his 1981 debut in the music industry, Thirlwell has amassed a body of work that stretches the gamut from orchestrations, big band and sound sculpture, cathartic noise-rock to abstract electronics, chamber music, serial music and imaginary soundtracks – sometimes all in the same album.
His unique score for The Venture Bros. television series has garnered widespread critical acclaim and this CD marks the first release of the television series' music at retail. JG has been scoring the series for three season and is currently at work on season four.
It is currently available on CD through Adult Swim's online shop (http://www.williamsstreet.com/) and as a digital download through iTunes, Amazon.com and others. The vinyl is available thru all fine retail outlets.
In addition, Thirlwell is also now working on new commissions for Kronos Quartet . He has an archival Foetus CD/DVD of minimal works, LIMB, coming out thru his website f o e t u s in May. And his chamber ensemble Manorexia performs at The Stone in NYC on May 6 2009.
