Baddies announce details of new single ‘Holler For My Holiday’ Set for release on June 1st, ‘Holler...’ comes backed with new B-Side ‘Handshake’, alongside a re-working of their debut single ‘Battleships’ by recent Futureheads and Operahouse mixers Atephoald V’s Rich Willison’s Remote Orchestra. It will come out on Medical, the bands own label. Taken from their as yet untitled debut album, recorded in March at Rockfield Studios in Wales, ‘Holler ...’ will be supported by a full European tour (full dates below). Highlights for the summer include appearances at Radio One Big Weekend, Bestival, Camp Bestival, Rockness and Summer Sundae (UK), Roskilde (Denmark), Oya (Norway), Pukkelpop (Belgium) and Melt Festival (Germany). Their debut release ‘Battleships’ saw Baddies the focus of much glowing press attention, with the band ending the year being picked by the likes of NME, MTV, Clash, Q and Drowned In Sound as Tips For 2009. Two appearances at ‘In The City’ saw them emerging as one of the UKs most hotly tipped new acts, with capacity shows at European industry events ‘London Calling’ and ‘Eurosonic’ showing that word had spread outside of the UK. Further proof of this was evident on the bands two sold-out German tours at the end of 2008. With their previous single having gathered press approval from all possible angles, plus the accompanying video reaching #1 on the Myspace/MTV Chart for 3 weeks, ‘Holler For My Holiday’ will confirm the faith showed by all those early supporters, and also push them into the awareness of a whole new batch of fans. With a bounding, anthemic chorus, and guitar hook to die for, Baddies are perfectly poised to become the band on the summer. The track is available now to be heard at myspace.com/baddies. The video, shot by Sammy Davis Senior (Futureheads), can also be found on the bands myspace. Quote:
