ULTERIOR Release Sister Speed / Aporia’, 10" AA/digital 6th July

ULTERIOR Release Sister Speed / Aporia’, 10" AA/digital 6th July
ULTERIOR have been extremely busy over the past 12 months, fresh from their European tour supporting The Sisters Of Mercy, the band have been recording their new single ‘Sister Speed / Aporia’, a 10" double A/digital release out on DiscError Records in July.
The London 5 piece are Honey (Vocals), Simmons( Guitars)Motorcycle Boy (Keys and Guitars), Mickey ( Bass), MCG (Synths and Machines). They have outgrown every scene/fad tag they have been associated with over the past 2 years, fast becoming an exciting rock 'n' roll band with the staying power to establish themselves as one of the best new acts coming out of the UK.

In the last year, ULTERIOR have shared stages with the likes of (the aforementioned) The Sisters Of Mercy and A.R.E. Weapons, The Horrors, These New Puritans, Black Strobe and Sonic Boom of the legendary Spacemen 3. The band have also grown a large European fanbase, (playing riotous shows across Spain, Portugal, Italy, France, Germany, Poland and Scandanavia), to add to their already burgeoning UK support from amazing shows at The Astoria, Koko and Scala.

Consisting of two very contrasting tracks, their new release symbolises where this band is headed for 2009. The first, "Sister Speed", is a three-and-a-half-minute, electronic rock 'n' roll ride, that at times verges on saccharine filled stadium-pop. Motorik drum machines on speed, crashing guitars, soaring synth hooks and a strong helping of swaggering vocals, "Sister Speed" is set to cause riots on dance-floors across the country.

On the reverse side comes the much awaited "Aporia". An epic track that has been Ulterior's live show-stopper. Finally committed to tape, it reveals the band's song-writing skills and accentuates their desire for powerful, intense dynamics within their sound. "Aporia" builds from an almost naked vocal and climaxes with the jaw dropping sound of all hell breaking loose.

Too heavy for chi-chi electro clubs, too intense for lolloping indie hipsters, too much pouting rock 'n' roll and good looks for the noise geeks to stomach - ULTERIOR are quickly carving out their own cut of the UK music scene. The band describe themselves simply as “electronic rock and roll”, with many references such as Big Black, Sisters of Mercy, Manic Street Preachers and Suicide.
The band have also gained a certain rep among celebs in the know; Kate Moss, Bobby Gillespie, Douglas Hart (Jesus and The Mary Chain), Jade Jagger and Peaches Geldof have all been spotted at their London shows.
