Ross Robinson, world-renowned music producer for the Cure, At the Drive In, Sepultura, Slipknot, Norma Jean, Korn and other countless successes will go into the recording studio with Long Beach band, Repeater to record their second album on April 28.
The band’s debut full-length, “Iron Flowers” came out summer 2008 which Robinson heard through the band’s MySpace Music page, using social media A&R as his tool for musical discovery.
Robinson is foregoing upfront recording costs to launch his music discovery model. In an effort to promote the band’s content, Robinson and Repeater formed the White Label Collective, abandoning the traditional record-label protocol for music discovery and distribution.
The use of social networking Web sites has enabled access for users and musicians to communicate via blogs, music playlists, performance dates, etc.
Pioneering the most direct course for music to reach its audience, Ross Robinson and Repeater are the White Label Collective (WLC). Applying a seminal DIY ethic, focused on the producer as the orchestrator of this label-less venture, WLC is set to become the alternate authority to liberate artists throughout the music industry.
About Ross Robinson:
