'Dr Whiskers Theme' available with Altsounds
To coincide with the release of Damian Lazarus’ debut album ‘Smoke The Monster Out’, released on Get Physical (May 26), Altsounds are offering you the chance to get your hands on an unreleased track of his called “Dr. Whiskers Theme”.
“Twisted, raw, deep underground techno, house and electro. Crazy future music that works just as well at peak times in large clubs as it does in the early hours in small spaces.” That’s how Damian Lazarusexplains his music.
“Dr. Whisker’s Theme” is a jazz-inspired, piano and bass looped downtempo track that belies Lazarus’ traditional club sound. It’s a great track, and reveals a more personal side of Lazarus that is fully explored on his debut LP, Smoke The Monster Out (May 26 on Get Physical).
Lazarus (from London, now based in L.A.), is best known for founding the Crosstown Rebels label after his departure from City Rockers, and helping shape the sound of contemporary techno in his roles as A&R for London Records music editor of Dazed & Confused and globally renowned DJ. Finally stepping out from behind the decks to make a fuller, lusher production in Smoke The Monster Out, Lazarus has enlisted the help of friends Get Physical for the release.
