Yesterday, May 12, Hill Country Revue released their new album Make A Move via Razor & Tie. This 10-track, 45-minute album was recorded at Jim Dickinson's famed Zebra Ranch Studio, as well as at Young Avenue Sound in Memphis, with Cody Dickinson in the producer's chair and father Jim Dickinson (who has played with Aretha Franklin, The Rolling Stones, The Flamin Groovies, among others) as "director."

Hill Country Revue is Cody Dickinson (guitar/drums/piano/washboard), Chris Chew (bass/vocals), Ed "Hot" Cleveland (drums), Daniel Coburn (vocals/harp), Kirk Smithhart (guitar/vocals), and are at times joined by Luther Dickinson (guitar/vocals), Martin Shore (drums), Garry Burnside (guitar/vocals), and Aaron Julison (bass/vocals). Cody and Chris have played together in North Mississippi Allstars, Daniel is formerly of Dixie Hustler and Ed and Kirk are well known for playing in and around Memphis. The majority of the songs on the new record were written by Garry Burnside, the youngest son of legendary Mississippi bluesman R.L. Burnside.

The response to the record has already been great. The single, "You Can Make It," was the #1 most added at Triple A in its first week and rotations are expected to be heavy. The press reaction has been great as well. Features are set to run in Guitar World, Guitar Edge and on Billboard.com. Reviews will be seen in Modern Drummer, Relix, American Songwriter, Blurt, Living Blues, Blues Revue and many other publications and websites.

HILL COUNTRY REVUE'S CODY DICKINSON
ON MTV'S "$5 COVER"

On May 1st, MTV premiered the first episode of their new series "$5 Cover". MTV teamed up with Craig Brewer, the creator of Oscar-winning film "Hustle and Flow," to create this Memphis-music-focused series. "$5 Cover" is a rough-and-tumble show set in the clubs, bars, and all-night cafes of present-day Memphis. The series follows a cast of young musicians as they fight for love, inspiration, and money to pay the rent. For more information on the show check out the $5 Cover Blog.
