NEW SINGLE – PANTHALASSA / CRASH THE CURRENT
RELEASED 15th JUNE ON COLOURSCHOOL

Hypnotic stargazing and euphoric post-rock, the delirious sound of Swimming is previewed on double a-side single Panthalassa / Crash The Current released June 8th on Colour School.

The hypnotic opening of Panthalassa is a breathtaking rush of soaring synth hooks, turbulent guitars and otherworldly vocal. A vision of the world re-united by the positive potential of Globalization Panthalassa shares the a-side with the pounding and bewildering dreamstate of Crash The Current.

Released on June 22nd debut album The Fireflow Trade sees Swimming existing at the point where a rock band ends and an electronic symphony begins. One of the most refreshing acts to have emerged in the UK for 2009, they artfully blend the power and energy of Pixies with the ambient soundscapes of Boards Of Canada. Their talent for sonic experimentation never detracting from the innate gift for melody, The Fireflow Trade is as headspinningly inventive as it is euphorically engaging.

Following a Glastonbury ’08 appearance at Emily Eavis’ personally invitation, the Nottingham quintet released a pair of low-level digital singles on Brighton’s Izumi Records last year. Garnering plaudits from critics such as Huw Stephens, Swimming played shows with contemporaries Chairlift, Pivot and Shearwater, while trialling their innovate Binaural live show at the Dot to Dot Festival, a new live concept that they toured again in March of this year.

FORTHCOMING LIVE DATES: APRIL 30th SHEFFIELD, Fuzz Club with Amusement Parks on Fire; 8th MAY NOTTINGHAM, Bodega Social Club with APOF; 21st MAY BRISTOL, Start The Bus; 9th JUNE LONDON, Queen Of Hoxton / Club AC30; 16th JUNE LONDON, The Fly; 19th JUNE NOTTINGHAM, Brownes; 19th JULY LOVEBOX FESTIVAL, London Victoria Park.

Swimming are: John Sampson / Peter Sampson / Andrew Wright / Jonathon Spittlehouse / Blake Pearson
