In anticipation of Bibio’s first full length release on Warp, new signing Bibio will release a double A-side limited edition 7” of lead album tracks ‘Ambivalence Avenue/ Fire Ant’on the 8th of June 2009. Marking a departure in sound from previous releases, this 7” showcases Bibio’s forthcoming album ‘Ambivalence Avenue’, to be released on the 22nd of June. The album is a bright summery piece of work saturated in an otherworldly, vintage aesthetic.
This ‘Ambivalence Avenue/ Fire Ant’ 7” single is strictly physical release only. A special one off collector’s item it contains an artworked insert and will be beautifully embossed. This deluxe package is limited to 500 copies in the UK.
As any listener who has heard the full release will vouch, ‘Ambivalence Avenue’ is a diverse collection of music that swings from plaintive folk songs to richly textured, kaleidoscopic instrumental tracks to vintage disco beats. However, this whole spectrum of music is stamped with a certain ‘Bibio’ sound, that is lo-fi and vintage, like an antiquated Victorian toy.
