Introducing ... SEBROK
Berlin based Sebrok - purveyor of tough and twitchy stripped back techno - has been spinning since the age of 16, this summer sees him release a duo of defining EP’s…

Sebrok - The Person:

"I´m a musicfan for passion and my profession is being a DJ and producer and running my own label. Could there be anything better!?“ These are still the words of the Berlin-based artist Sebrok after 15 years in the music circus.

The year was 1995 when, the Munich-born Sebrok was infected by the electronic music scene. By the age of 16 he was already playing local parties and quickly became a professional DJ by spinning at big name clubs such as Club Schimmerlos, Neue Heimat, Ultraschall and his residentclub since then: Suite 15.

By moving to Berlin his career started to rise further. In 2000, he moved to the german Capital where he has been living and working since. He played on tour with the likes of Thomas P. Heckman, Thomas Schumacher and DJ Tanith through more than 25 cities across Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
Sebrok released his first records to critical acclaim, as well, Berlin based DJ Monika Kruse is an enthusiastic supporter and hired him as a personal assistant to work with Terminal M and Electric Avenue.

In 2003, Sebrok became resident DJ in the well known cult Berlin Techno club, Tresor.

By 2004, he had founded the PASO Music label, together with partners Marc Miroir and Jojo Spallek, and has been working there since as a Producer and Labelhead.
Sebrok´s 2005 cooperation with emerging producer Dave Shokh quickly became a club hit and made the playlists of DJ legends such as Laurent Garnier, DJ Hell and Sven Väth.

Shortly afterwards a tragic sporting accident resulted in a major operation and months of rehabilitation. His passion for music remained strong throughout the break. By the end of 2005, he had been taken on as an editor with MTV, and saw the music industry from a totally different perspective.

PASO Music benefited from a positive partnering in 2007 when Joachim Spieth came on board. By now, PASO Music proudly represented artists such as Tony Rohr, Dietrich Schönemann, Martin Eyerer, Silversurfer, Matt French, Justin Berkovi, as well as the new Kompakt label discovery, Maxime Dangles and the German Wunderkind Gregor Tresher.

In 2008, Sebrok had a tight grip on his projects. Besides his residency at Regensburg club, Suite 15, he has assumed his old position as a resident at Tresor in it´s new location.

Every spare minute is spent in the studio producing with partner in crime, Dave Shokh. This creative co-operation has resulted in their unique mark heavily imprinted on three tight and groovy tracks, due for release as „Pyrolator“ by PASO Music. The 3 Tracks „Pyrolator“, „Boob Tube“ and „Almost Famous“ caused attention all over and found their way into DJ sets of big player like Speedy J., Miss Kittin & SLAM.

Forced by this success Sebrok was overwhelmed with inquires.
US-Superstar Dubfire´s request for his own imprint SCI+TEC resulted in Sebrok´s 4 tracker „The X“, „Concorde“, „Falcon“ and „Airspeed“ which will hit the dancefloors all over in June.

Also Barcelona-based Davide Squillace asked for some tracks for his Label Minisketch where Sebrok produced the 3 Tracker „Vision“, „Cheap&Awesome“ and „Home for Sale“ which will be released in Mai 2009.

What we have here is a young and focused artist, with a creative style of his own. One who stands for great music that compels people to dance. And isn´t that exactly what a DJ should stand for?"

The first arrives on Dubfire’s SCI-TEC label on June 29th, a quartet of tracks Concorde, Airspeed, Falcon and The X; they perfectly showcase Sebrok’s superb talent for creating furtive dance floor hits.

It’s follow up, due for release on Davide Squillace’s Minisketch records on August 3rd, comes bearing the tracks Vision, Cheap & Awesome and Home for Sale. Both EPs are compiled on the Sebrok promo sampler currently doing the rounds. If you like your techno fidgety with a dose of dance floor coercion then Sebrok is for you….

Following residencies at the likes of ‘Suite 15’, Sebrok took a giant leap forward with a 25 city tour alongside Thomas Schumacher and Thomas P. Heckman, and a residency at the cult Berlin club Tresor. Around this time, he was also gaining valuable insider knowledge as Monika Kruse’s personal assistant.

2004 saw Sebrok team up with Marc Miroir and Joachim Spieth to launch PASO Music. His 2005 single Some Kind Of Monster was a hit with many of the worlds elite DJ’s, and the label now proudly represents artists including Tony Rohr, Maxime Dangles, Silversurfer, Joachim Spieth and Gregor Tresher.

After a stretch in the corporate world of MTV and establishing his own Berlin based fashion label German Garment, Sebrok returned to his favoured career last year with an EP containing the tracks Pyrolator, Boob Tube and Almost Famous, a big hit with such luminaries as Dubfire, Miss Kittin, Slam, Speedy J and Chris Liebing.
