Minneapolis' Sick Of Sarah (Sick of Sarah on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads) will be releasing The Best Thing, a four-song, digital-only EP via Adamant Records today. The five-piece, all-female band were joined by the Bangles' Susanna Hoffs at their show last Friday at the Roxy in Los Angeles for a rousing edition of the Bangles' "In Your Room" which has been a staple in the Sick Of Sarah repertoire for quite some time.
The Best Thing features three songs lead singer Abisha Uhl recently wrote and recorded while in LA. Songs "Shades of Grey" and "The Best Thing" were not originally meant to be SOS songs, and were recorded as a collaboration with Los Angeles Artist Josh Steinmetz and feature his programming and background vocals. The song "Autograph" is intended to have a full arrangement and will be included on the next Sick Of Sarah album. Fans started clamoring for the songs featured on the EP when they surfaced as sound beds in Sick Of Sarah's YouTube videos. There is also a different "video mix" version of the band's current single of "Bittersweet."
Sick Of Sarah will continue touring throughout the summer, returning to Summerfest in Milwaukee on June 29th, where last year they were named Best Emerging Band. For this year's edition, the band has graduated from the Emerging Artist stage and will be providing direct support for Spoon. Two days earlier, on June 27th, the band will perform at Canada's first Rock On The Range festival, on a bill that features Rise Against and Rancid.
