New Jersey’s favourite sons
The Gaslight Anthem return to the UK this summer for several events including a performance on June 28th in support of “The Boss” at Hard Rock Calling in Hyde Park. Tickets for Hard Rock Calling are already sold out. The band will also be playing the Radio 1 / NME stage at Reading and Leeds festivals and have recently announced they’ll be playing Latitude Festival too.
June 29th also sees the release of the title track ‘The ’59 Sound’. This single will be available via download, as well as in 7” and CD versions. The B-sides include Gaslight’s brilliant cover version of ‘State of Love and Trust’ by Pearl Jam and ‘We Came to Dance’ off the band’s first full-length SINK OR SWIM.

Hailing from New Brunswick, New Jersey, The Gaslight Anthem’s anthemic tales of American life have captured the imagination and hearts of fans and media alike. THE ’59 SOUND was hailed as one of the best albums of 2008 and Kerrang! magazine put The Gaslight Anthem on the cover before they had ever written a word about them. NME called THE ’59 SOUND one of the “best albums of 2008”, and immensely positive press poured in from Q Magazine, Rock Sound, Big Cheese, Clash and The Sun as well as great American press, including a cover feature in Alternative Press and major features in Rolling Stone and SPIN. Playlist action at Radio One, XFM and 6 Music are also media highlights of this band’s incredible rise to success over the last 12 months.
