After Medi’s encounter with Dave the band went on to play at his wedding, sign a record deal and begin a musical career together . Constant touring has transformed them into a serious live act - their show is described as “a relentlessly paced rock and roll show… like the Beatles on fire!”. It’s no wonder they’ve supported the likes of Supergrass, KT Tunstall, Duffy, Juliette, The New Romantiques and Charlie Winston amongst others. 2009 has already proved a busy year for the band with shows in London, LA, NYC, SXSW and a European tour. As if that wasn’t enough to fit into 4 months, they’ve managed to find the time to get in to the studio and record a new album. The album titled ‘At Last’ follows classic album tradition by dividing itself into A and B sides. Its first 5 songs see the band (Oli on drums, Dani on lead guitar, Francki on bass, Gari on sax and Medi providing vocals and acoustic guitar) entering the classic studio environment. The last 5 tracks shift to a live session recorded at the Pigalle Studio in Paris. ‘At Last’ has been co-produced by François Chevallier (Coldplay, Arcade Fire, The Macabees...) for the A Side, and Bruce Keen (Air, Phoenix....) for the B Side, and the 10 tracks range from a romantic “Say The Word” to the screaming raw energy of “Feed Me”. Due for release on June 16th with a sell out show at Le Point FMR in Paris, the EP is already creating a stir amongst music lovers. With Medi’s vocals being likened to Stevie Wonder and Van M surely won’t be long before these guys sell their millionth album. Medi and The Medicine Show are certain to be the band of the summer.
