My Tiger My Timing are giving away a pair of tickets to see them live on Saturday 4th July in the stately surrounding of this years new Monarchy Festival at Ragley Hall in Warwickshire. The exciting line up also includes Happy Mondays, Supergrass, Bombay Bicycle Club and Rob Da Bank. To enter, fans must sign up to the mailing list at the band’s website www.mytigermytiming. Winners will be notified on Monday 29th June.
The band’s hypnotic dark alt pop with irresistible rhythms and melodies are receiving plenty of praise from fans and members of the music industry, and the band are anticipating a Summer of UK shows and festival appearances; 'This is our first main stage appearance at a festival so we are really looking forward to It!’ says lead singer Anna Vincent. ‘playing to new audiences is what we are all about and we can't wait to play the new material we've been working on’.
Inspired by ‘hearts, buildings, black holes and space’, My Tiger My Timing are the newest London offerings to layer vocals and rhythms to create danceable, dark pop music in the vein of Hot Chip, Fun Boy Three and Blur. They have been working hard on the live circuit playing small gigs around the country and today they deliver their first single. With each member layering vocals and with a strong rhythmic influence, Arthur Russell, Orange Juice and Talking Heads are among immediate reference points.
My Tiger My Timing recently featured on a MySpace ‘Best Of’ podcast for new music and are continuously propped by their peers, other up-and-coming acts like Plugs, Post War Years and We Have Band. With a good selection of UK and European dates coming up and forthcoming studio sessions with Joe Goddard of Hot Chip, the year ahead looks bright for the new band as they reach more audiences across the UK and beyond with their unusual experimental pop music.
