As anticipation builds for the release of Surrogate's sophomore album,Popular Mechanics, on July 14th, the California indie pop outfit has made a second song off the record available on their Myspace page.
"Surprise" the opening cut from the band's forthcoming second disc for Tooth & Nail Records features frontman Chris Keene's distinctive vocals layered over driving guitars and reverb washed keyboards, with a few violins and barline-crossing drum fills thrown in for good measure. TOMORROW: In their continuing grassroots effort to be "heard and not seen" and in an homage to the great American cinema classic "Airheads," the members of Surrogate will also be hijacking Chico, CA's KZFR 90.1 FM at Midnight PST tomorrow, Wednesday June, 24th to preview portions of Popular Mechanics, ( dubbed onto a cassette tape, of course) for the night owls of the world to enjoy.
