A response for intelligent and sophisticated musicianship for hardcore to metal-inspired arenas, MOPA (My Own Private Alaska) completes their debut full length album, Amen. The band will be opening for Metallica July 7, 2009.
After five years behind closed doors crafting their seminal brand of music, MOPA introduced their groundbreaking sound from Toulouse, an obscure town in the south of France in 2007. Milka (vocalist), Tristan (pianist) and Yohan (drummer) gained widespread attention, winning over the music industry with their intense originality and raw emotional sincerity.
The trio's unique combination of primal screaming, jarring spoken word, classical piano riffs and wailing drums caught the attention of world renowned producer Ross Robinson. The band recently completed Amen, their debut album, with Robinson at the helm. Ross Robinson evolved their expressions of suffering and nihilism to encompass the road to salvation and resolve.
The album's uniqueness is exhibited through MOPA's iconoclastic three-piece ensemble, enabling each member to stand out independently with an organic understanding that the sum of the trio is far more powerful than the individual contributions of each member alone.
To promote Amen, the band is performing with world renowned heavyweights Metallica, Summer 2009, at Festival De Nimes. The band kicks off the festival opening day.
