Brand New Sin Release Their Fourth Studio Album "Distilled"

Brand New Sin Release Their Fourth Studio Album "Distilled"
Syracuse, NY natives Brand New Sin have returned with their 4th CD featuring (guitarist/founding member) Kris Wiechmann as their new front man. The CD entitled "Distilled" will be released on Wednesday, July 8th 2009 . Join Brand New Sin as they celebrate their CD release party at Mac's Bad Art Bar in Mattydale , NY with Torment the Vein and The Born Again Rebels Friday July 10, 2009 . Also on Friday, there will also be an earlier "un- plugged" performance from the band at the Hot Topic store in the Great Northern Mall in Clay, NY. The Hot Topic performance is from 6pm to 7pm.

Brand New Sin has been recording and touring the USA and UK since 2002 along side many big national bands such as Motorhead, Zakk Wylde's Black Label Society, Corrosion Of Conformity, Saliva, Breaking Benjamin, Soil, Type O Negative, Clutch, Mushroomhead, The Cult and more. They have opened for Godsmack, Dope, Chris Cornell, The Deftones, Drowning Pool, Audiovent, Dillinger Escape Plan, and countless others.

Lead singer Joe Altier left the band to pursue other interests in early 2008. They found singer Joe Sweet to replace Altier and did some brief touring in 2008. Sweet had too many commitments to stay with a touring band and honorably chose to leave before recording "Distilled". Founding member and guitarist Kenny Dunham also parted ways with BNS in early 2009. Kris Wiechmann stepped up to the plate and tracked the vocals for this recording delivering a conviction and style that fits perfectly with this band's blend of southern metal and hard rock.

They wrote and recorded the album as a three piece, and are currently performing this way as well. The band is taking their time in finding "the right guy" to replace long time guitarist Kenny Dunham. "Kenny's got some big shoes to fill. Kris and I had been in a band with him for over a decade. We were hoping to just fill his spot in the band right away, but we know now that being patient is the only realistic approach to filling Dunham's spot". -Chuck Kahl

Sometimes when things look bleak, things have a way of turning around. Shortly after Dunham's departure, the band approached Ron Keck, founder and co-owner of Subcat Studios in Skaneateles, to record a few songs that the band had been sitting on. Keck agreed, and after hearing the band lay two or three tracks, Ron told the band to keep rolling. Since the band has a bunch of material, some new material and some dating back to songs written by Wiechmann and Dunham that never made it to the "Recipe of Disaster" CD, the band was obliged to keep the "tape rolling" and to record more. The band spent the cold New York winter laying tracks for their next CD- Distilled.

"Though we [Brand New Sin] have had set backs because we've had two original members leave the band, as well as the strains that most bands have had to struggle to overcome because of the current state of the music industry, Brand New Sin remains intact; condensed, consolidated, stronger, and more refined."That's what we mean by the title of the CD. We are Distilled" -Kris Wiechmann
