"There's a hugely imposing certainty about the album's sound and songwriting... the main currency of 21st Century Breakdown is king-sized stadium rock" - The Guardian
"Deft, epic, versatile and thrilling" - Kerrang!
"The voice of a disenfranchised mainstream, presented for prime-time consumption" – Metro
"Tight, flashy and full of gnashing pop hits" – NME
“Green Day’s greatest accomplishment is the manner in which they’ve constructed a supremely cohesive whole out of such seemingly disparate parts. The characters, themes and motifs that recur throughout 21st Century Breakdown are marshalled into an engrossing narrative that recalls both Bruce Springsteen and novelist Chuck Palahniuk” – Observer Music Monthly
"Another perfect document of our times" – Q
