The stealth bomber rise of Officer Kicks continues...

Officer Kicks, London’s antidote to the credit crunch blues, return from a critically acclaimed performance at Sweden’s biggest festival, Peace & Love (with Motley Crue, Razorlight, Faith No More etc). Next Friday evening sees them return to Secret Garden Party, supporting Jarvis Cocker on the main stage. In August they are live and direct from Carnaby Street, invited to play a rock flavoured in-store at Merc Clothing. This precedes a tour of Ireland mega-venues supporting The Script, who they supported at Shepherds Bush Empire. Ireland’s second biggest export after U2 have been spreading the word about their favourite rock band, describing OK as “fantastic” in an interview.

In September Officer Kicks return by request for the yearly Harley Davidson Festival where they have been asked to play all three nights.

Then on October 5th, We Make Things Records unleash The Kraken. A mere taste of the band's new full force LP, Citywide Curfew. Encouraging pre-release feedback and crowd reactions have earned fresh interest internationally and superlative drenched reviews.. Another of the album's tunes - Tom Thumb - has garnered their best feedback so far in clubs (and football grounds!).

2008’s introductory album, The Six Grand Plot, made a definitive mark at grass roots level. It earned Officer Kicks amazing responses, plus major festival slots and big supports where the new songs were previewed before Citywide Curfew was recorded. This new album is a major step on for the band and is already magnetising serious attention.

Gradual, organic, timeless. Occasionally the real deal materialises. Jamie Scallion (vocals), Jamie Fisher (guitar), Michael Skorjanec (bass) and Keith Wickham (drums) are a class act with universal admirers; mods, rockers , pop stars and indie heroes... Articulate and entertaining on or off stage, they’ve a collective ethos that’s spawned from a multi-tasking cottage industry. Huge songs, an addictive presence and a list of cool gigs garnered without hype, a major label or even a booking agent, to back it all up.

Armed with massive potential, Officer Kicks are, literally, almost famous.
