Released ahead of their debut album is this pulsating, melody driven creation from San Francisco’s LoveLikeFire. Ann Yu’s beautiful vocals set the tone and build the crescendo-heavy feel in ‘Boredom’. Her angst and inspirations always at the forefront.
Ann Yu led a modest childhood, where her life and upbringing went against the Las Vegas grain. Her parents forbid her to learn a contemporary musical instrument, so enforced classical violin classes had to suffice. This began her early obsession with music, and so frenetic was her playing that she regularly injured both her chin and fingers. Finishing her schooling as Valedictorian of her class, Ann Yu is truly in a league of her own.
After what seemed like a lifetime Ann Yu decided to up sticks and re-locate to the more creative and bohemian city of San Francisco, leaving behind her longstanding room mates and rehearsal buddies, The Killers. It was here that she hooked up with drummer David Farrell; and plotted the first movements of LoveLikeFire.
Richly melodic and sometimes darkly ferocious, ‘Boredom’ is the third in a trilogy of glorious singles taken from the band's debut album, ‘Tear Ourselves Away’ due for release on 14th September.
