NEW SINGLE "SPINNIN'" OUT SEP 14th - This is he purest pop moment from her widely acclaimed debut album, "Speech Therapy." Produced by Tunng mainman Mike Lindsay, "Spinnin'" is a hugely catchy singalong of a tune, a feelgood route into the sometimes dark and emotional world of Ms Debelle. That's not to say the girl sacrifices any of her lyrical intelligence. Her words are packed with barbed one-liners, clever asides and great imagery. Speech's rise from hostel dwelling and bad deeds to articulate, honest and abrupt pop star has become the one of the biggest stories of the Mercury season.
EXCLUSIVE WILEY/SPEECH TRACK ON NME.com - Big Dada had been raving at Wiley about Speech Debelle for some time, but it was only this summer that he finally rang up to rave back. In his words 'the Better Days tune is baaaad bruv!' Several changes in Wiley's phone number later, he recorded one of the best, most considered verses he's laid down for a tune that ain't his own. An inspired Speech recorded a brand new verse of her own, and brought album collaborator and UK underground don Incredubwoy into the mix. The finished result is, we think you'll agree, something quite astonishingly good.
