KASEY & BILL CHAMBERS new album + book project

KASEY CHAMBERS TO RELEASE CHILDREN’S BOOK & TEAMS UP WITH FATHER BILL CHAMBERS FOR CHILDREN’S/FAMILY CD

Multi-ARIA award winner, chart-topper and mother of two Kasey Chambers has teamed up with father Bill Chambers for an exciting new project, set for release on October 30, 2009 – an album of family friendly songs recorded with Bill (Poppa Bill) and accompanied by the Little Hillbillies, plus Kasey has written a gorgeous children’s book (with her good friend Bernadette) entitled ‘Little Kasey Chambers and The Lost Music’.

A limited edition premium CD/book version will be available via select retailers, which will include the album, book and lyrics. A standard CD/book version will also be available, as well as a book version with bonus CD containing the track ‘The Lost Music Blues’ and an audio reading of the book by Kasey.

The album is made up of 16 new songs and was recorded and written by Kasey and Bill Chambers and the Little Hillbillies (Talon, Arlo, Eden, Skye, Béla, Jake, Tyler, and Townes) and produced by Nash Chambers and the Chambers family. Musicians Shane Nicholson, James Gillard, John Watson, Scott Bird, Mick Albeck, Jeff McCormack and Nash Chambers also appear on the album.

Songs such as lead track ‘The Lost Music Blues’, which relates directly to the book, are joined by the incredibly catchy ‘Poppa Bill Says’, and the touching ‘Do You Remember’, making this an album that will appeal as much to parents as it will to their children.

For Kasey, music has always been a family affair, from her teenage years in family outfit the Dead Ringer Band, through her four solo albums produced by brother Nash with father Bill close at hand playing anything he could find with strings on, and most recently with ‘Rattlin’ Bones’, Kasey’s #1 platinum-selling collaboration with husband Shane Nicholson.

Always one to draw on her experiences, this new project is a reflection of Kasey’s current life. As the mother of two young children, Talon and Arlo, it’s not difficult to see where her influences have come from. Notably Kasey’s son Talon makes his song-writing debut on the album with the song ‘Two Houses’.

“Writing this book has been a dream of mine since my first son was born 7 years ago. The idea of the story and characters started back then and have grown a little each passing year,” Kasey said.

“The main character (Little Kasey) is based on myself when I was 8 years old growing up in the outback of Australia. My two best friends in the story are ‘Froggles’, based on and named by my 7 year old son Talon, and ‘Worm’ who is based on my real life best friend, roadie and lighting technician, “Worm”. His wife, (in real life of course!) Bernadette, is also one of my closest friends and a great teacher. She helped me write and bring this idea to life. Having this book finally illustrated and published is a dream come true and one of the proudest moments of my life.”
