Little Comets have announced a clasp of headline dates across the UK throughout August, to cap off a summer of bizarre gigs and festival performances. In six short months Little Comets have come from nothing to quickly rising as one most talked about young bands in the country; selling out tours across the north, causing havoc at universities around the country with their impromptu gigs in lecture halls and bagging support from the likes of Huw Stephens, Zane Lowe & Radio1.
The band released their debut single 'One Night In October' on Lucky Number earlier this year to massive critical acclaim and are currently putting the finishing touches to their debut album for Columbia Records, recorded by committed sonic tamperer and guitarist Micky with Rich Costey (MGMT, Glasvegas) on mixing duties. They will release a new single this autumn, to combat tiredness, woe and leaf-accumulation.
Little Comets played their first gig as a four-piece at the end of January 2008. But rather than embarking on the usual indie toilet circuit they have focused on finding gigs via the 21st century route of social networks such as Facebook and Twitter, preferring the more intimate & spontaneous birthday parties, trams, trains, shopping centres & lecture theatres that themselves & their growing legion of fans frequent…
They will be taking their percussive, rotund and melodic live set to venues across the UK this summer.

With plans afoot to re-frequent centres of intellectual excellence once the new academic term returns and a single to follow, the remainder of 2009 promises to be an exciting one for these multi-pronged deliverers.
Little Comets are a rarity: the intelligent indie band, as ingenious and lyrically dark as they are rhythmically tricksy and thrillingly accessible. Four bright boys from Newcastle-upon-Tyne into Debussy and Roald Dahl, they are doing things differently, using the sort of production techniques normally found in hip hop to assemble the hookiest guitar-based pop-rock. Little Comets are bothers Rob (Vocals) and Micky (Guitar etc), Mark (drums) and Matt on bass.
