New York’s pre-eminent post hardcore supergroup Rival Schools return to the fray with a smattering of UK shows in August showcasing tracks from the bands follow up to ‘United By Fate’, due in early 2010.
Having blazed a trail and inspired untold numbers of bands with the International success of ‘United By Fate’, Rival Schools’ individual members (much to the disappointment of their army of devoted fans) decided to pursue other musical avenues, continuing to release successful records under numerous guises until they finally re-united in 2008 for a bunch of festivals and shows around the world.
With the groundswell of raw energy, passion and creativity that grew from their sell out European tour in the summer of 2008, Walter, Ian, Cache and Sam began recording songs together, switching their time between studios in Manhattan and their native Brooklyn. Production duties were also shared, alternating between Rival Schools’ guitarist Ian Love and Grammy nominated producer Joel Hamilton who is now mixing the tracks for the as yet untitled album.
With the album mix nearing completion, Rival Schools are heading back to these shores to complete another short European tour beginning on August 18th in Germany and hitting the UK on August 25th for shows with The Offspring and Deftones and performances at this years Reading and Leeds Festivals on the Lock Up stage. Consistently delivering provocative and rousing live performances throughout their careers, Rival Schools are set to premier a host of brand new songs from the next record at their UK shows, giving fans a real taste of what’s to come from new recordings in 2010……
