Outcry Collective released their debut album ‘articles’ on 27th July. The band, living and breathing every last beat and note in preparation for recording the album, personally gutted out and soundproofed a pig sty and rebuilt their own recording studio, practice/live room and vocal booth. They spent the next two months sharing a house next door to the studio, recording, mixing and producing the album entirely by themselves.
Screaming out of Surrey, OUTCRY COLLECTIVE are a four piece explosion of British heavy rock. With only one EP (2007’s critically acclaimed ‘Pay View Love’) under their belt to date, the band have already whipped up a storm in the rock world and beyond with strong press and radio (XFM, Zane Lowe, Radio One, Kerrang, Metal Hammer, Bruce Dickinson etc.) and nearly 200 infectious live shows in two years with Fucked Up, The Plight, This Is Hell, Maylene And The Sons Of Disaster, A Day To Remember and more.
With debut album ‘a r t i c l e s’, the band have upped the ante on every level, exploring their sound with elements of Hardcore, Metal, Rock and Pop. This is the sound of four lads who have put their blood sweat and tears into the band, living and breathing every last beat and note. They spent the next two months sharing a house next door to the studio, recording, mixing and producing the album entirely by themselves.
The freedom from studio and producer deadlines has allowed the band to work their own schedule and fulfill their potential as one of the most exciting underground rock acts in the UK. Expect slamming drums, urgent basslines, QOTSA meets RATM -esque riffage and vocals that make you want to rip your heart out and serve it up on a plate.
The title of the album describes how every song was treated separately, often using borrowed equipment from other bands (such as acoustic bass guitars or percussive instruments) to create various styles of original rock music - “We wanted to create an album of songs that would leave the listener feeling like they've been on a rollercoaster party” as vocalist Steve puts it.
Earlier this year they ripped up the UK on tour with Blackhole and from 28th May – 15th June they are back rocking across UK and Europe with Long Island trio Warship (ex ‘From Autumn to Ashes’ members).
OUTCRY COLLECTIVE head out on headline tour with THE DEAD FORMATS in August and play Offset Festival 6th September.
