CHAIRLIFT LAUNCH EXCLUSIVE MUSIC VIDEO FOR MARC BY MARC JACOBS
 

Brooklyn three-piece Chairlift is busy gearing up for the last half of 2009, and they're doing it in style. Saks Fifth Avenue's online store Saks.com has announced an exclusive collaboration with the band as one part of its four-part music video for the fall MARC BY MARC JACOBS Ready-To-Wear and Accessories Collections. The band's exclusive music video shows them wearing the fall line on the streets of Brooklyn. The premiere of the video includes a performance by Chairlift at Saks Fifth Avenue's New York store on August 29 from 3 to 5. Chairlift is also featured on the "MIX IT UP by MARC BY MARC JACOBS" iTunes playlist, a unique gift for consumers at the video launch.

In the midst of this prelude to NYC Fashion Week, the band has been preparing for their upcoming fall headlining tour across North America and Europe with Phoenix and The Killers among others. Brooklyn psych-minded group Here We Go Magic will also be opening for the band in NYC. As an added bonus, former Animal Collective collaborator and composer John Maus will be joining the band on tour, acting as a guest member. Both artists are fans of each other's music, so this will be a very special and exciting new collaboration! Maus will also open for the band in select cities along the tour, which kicks off in New York at the Bowery Ballroom Sept. 5 and will wrap up in the UK with Phoenix.

Chairlift has also been nominated for "Breakthrough Video" at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards for their "Evident Utensil" video. MTV.com writes, "Chairlift's 'Evident Utensil' looks like a slick finished product, blending oceans into blue skies and faces into forests, artistically altering reality."
