Not content with putting out some off the most significant artists of the decade through their perma-chic label, those nice young gent’s from Kitsuné also know how to put together one hell of a live bill. This October they hit the road in the esteemed company of not one, but two of the UK’s best up and coming bands, co-headliners Delphic and Two Door Cinema Club.
Having triumphed at some of the UK’s key festivals this summer, Delphic augmented their status amongst fans and journalists alike as the band most destined for great things in 2010. The band release their second single ‘This Momentary’ through the notoriously astute French label on September 7th having previously appeared on the seventh instalment of Kitsuné Maison in the shape of a remix. This provides the first opportunity to sample the fruits of recording sessions with producer Ewan Pearson.
They are joined on the bill by Two Door Cinema Club; an incendiary, young three piece originating from the seaside resort of Bangor, Northern Ireland. The band’s debut single ‘Something Good Can Work’ won much acclaim earlier this year with tastemakers at Radio 1, XFM, NME and can be found on Kitsuné’s most recent compilation. Riotous festival appearances ensued across the UK at Isle of Wight, Underage and Glastonbury where the band picked up numerous young fans. They are currently in the studio working on their debut album with Eliot James (Bloc Party/Noah and the Whale) and Philippe Zdar (Cassius), due for release early 2010.
Kitsuné Maison 8 is released on 2nd November. Once again, Kitsuné highlight some of the coolest, most innovative new music emerging from around the world. In the past these hipsters have uncovered Klaxons, Crystal Castles, Delphic, Hot Chip and more. More than anyone else, whatever they say, goes.
