 Nettwerk Records along with Nate Ruess (The Format), Andrew Dost (Anathallo) and Jack Antonoff (Steel Train), who are collectively known as fun., are very excited with the overwhelming response to their ingenious debut album, AIM AND IGNITE, which was released today, August 25th.
This irresistible collection of freewheeling pop songcraft that Absolute Punk praises as "the most essential pop album of 2009," has been met with an extraordinary amount of excitement from both new and old fans of these three remarkably talented musicians. In addition to critical praise, the tremendous amount of online exchange has brought the band's MySpace page to over 1 million plays in just over a month. fun. will embark on their first national headlining tour of North America beginning September 8th in Salt Lake City, UT.
With AIM AND IGNITE, fun. have crafted something special; a contemporary rethinking of classic 70s pop, where ornate arrangements and inspired orchestrations meet present-day rock 'n' roll. Alternative Press agrees as they praise the bands "blend of jangly, horn-infused, '70s-style pop and some kind of wild carny sideshow" for it's "power to bring together hipsters and scene kids."
