Visceral no wave trio An Experiment On A Bird In The Air Pump are set to play a series of live dates this Autumn, kicking off with an appearance at Offset this Saturday and including a couple of dates for the Artrocker/Schuh New Blood tour. Heralded by The Guardian as ‘the most thrilling band’ at this year’s Camden Crawl, The Birds have also recently returned from Chicago after recording new tracks with Steve Albini.
An Experiment On A Bird In The Air Pump are three women creating music in their own unique way. Two bass guitars? Why not. Minimal drums played standing up? OK. Instrument swapping? A core essence. These women are influenced by film, art, and everything from soul music to grunge.
Having released their debut EP ‘These Sins’ in December 2008 to rave reviews and with live shows performed with a raw intensity they have been the talk of London’s music scene since their first live performance in April 2008 leading them to be touted as ones to watch by NME, The Independent, The Guardian and Artrocker to name but a few. Sharing a penchant for the subversive, An Experiment On A Bird In The Air Pump are intent at making the underground consumable to the masses. They are C-Bird, D-Bird and X-Bird. Upcoming Dates:
