 After five years at the forefront of Radio One’s specialist output with her show The Mash Up, Annie Mac has recently earned herself the much-coveted role of ‘officially starting the weekend’ every Friday evening.
Her nimble ascent to the most prominent dance music slot on radio is largely down to her keen ear for a banger and refreshing disregard for genre snobbery.
She is as inclusive with her audience as she is with different styles of music, and the sense that she is revelling in the tunes she plays as much as the listener has been evident from the off.
